DPF - Diesel Particulate Filter features a semi-porous (usually ceramic) core, thisfilter traps particulates (PM) in the exhaust stream as they pass through it. In an ‘active’ regeneration’ DPF, hot exhaust gases are used to burn off the PM captured in the filter.
