VGT - Variable geometry turbocharger is a turbocharger in which the turbine vanes can constantly (either mechanically or electronically) be adjusted to provide an optimum airflow into the combustion chamber, thereby  maximizing the engine’s performance and efficiency, especially at low engine revs. It effectively removes the ‘turbo lag’ as experienced by standard turbocharged engines.
